The Community Centre was completed in December 1976, around the same time that the Birch Hill estate was built in Bracknell. Over the last 30 years it has provided facilities for a wide range of local groups, as well as being the venue for numerous parties, receptions, and other private social events.
The Community Centre has been managed throughout its history by the Birch Hill Community Association. This is a group of unpaid volunteers that ensure the Centre is maintained and available to its users.
The day-to-day running costs and maintenance of the centre are financed by the hiring of the centre for local groups and private functions. The centre does not receive any other financial support, although the Bracknell Forest Borough Council do undertake major renovations of the building (such as the recently completed double glazing and security system).
